Dayton Neighborhoods

Looking to promote YOUR neighborhood?

Since moving to our downtown loft three years ago, we are still puzzled as to why so many people in this region have not taken the time to rediscover our urban core.  There are so many misperceptions out there about downtown - especially when it comes to crime and parking.  If only there were a way to convince people out there that downtown is actually a great place to visit and live.  More and more people are living downtown, and there are several new developments either in progress or about to begin.  But we still need more people to take pride in our city, spend more time here and even think about living here.  We think that more people would if they knew more about what is happening here - not from the city government or some organization, but directly from the very people that live here.  Hence our decision to create this website.

We know a lot about our neighborhood (downtown), but we don't necessarily know about the positive things happening in many of the other neighborhoods in Dayton.  We do know that there are some amazing things happening in many of our city's urban neighborhoods that simply do not get covered by the local media.  And we believe that the more people are informed about the positive things about our city, the more likely they will invest their time, money and emotions into our city.  This is where you come in...

Do you enjoy living in your neighborhood?  Are you somebody who is active in your community?  Do you enjoy writing?  Would you like to let our readers know what is great about your neighborhood?  We'd like to invite you to become a guest blogger on Dayton MostMetro.  Just let us know who you are, what neighborhood you live in, and a little bit about what you'd like to write about to promote your community.  And get ready to be a part of a new and exciting way to help generate even more energy and excitement about your neighborhood and our city - Web 2.0 style!

Thanks!

I can't believe the lack of comments here from the neighborhoods. I'd post more about South Park, but I'd feel like spamming. And I can certainly be better informed instead of sounding like wishful thinking.

This is a great site and informative. I hope it starts to pull more comments.

I had also wanted to hold back a little bit and see if other neighborhoods spoke up. Speaking as someone who is representing South Park on this site, I'd like to encourage anyone else from other neighborhoods to get involved--it's not much work, it's a lot of fun to think about the things about your neighborhood that you'd like others to know about, and it's a great way to get the word out about your area. Of course, perhaps you're all at saturation point and really don't need any more interesting, engaging people to move to your neighborhoods. If so, please keep sending them to South Park--we'd love to make them feel at home!
