Federal Funds for Historic Districts

In an attempt to help not only the Wright Dunbar neighborhood but all historical districts, Bootsie Neal testified in Washington on the value of historic preservation. Bootise, former Dayton City Commissioner and current president of Wright Dunbar Inc., was testifying of behalf of the federal funds that were instrumental in preserving the Wright-Dunbar village. The once dilapidated area has now become a community. She believes that the funds helped more than restore old buildings but gave a sense of place to the neighborhood. Now it is a place that the residents can be happy to call home.
